The day began with a welcome speech by Mr. Segun Akande, CEO and Lead Consultant at Xown Solutions. His words served as a timely reminder of the growing need for proactive cybersecurity.
“Good morning, everyone. It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the maiden edition of the CyberX Summit 2025, co-hosted in partnership with our esteemed allies at Kaspersky.”
He referenced recent ransomware attacks on major UK retailers such as Marks & Spencer, which resulted in over £1 billion in losses. The incidents, according to Mr. Akande, underscore the fact that cyber threats are now a daily reality. Therefore, a full-spectrum defense strategy is no longer optional.

✅ Olumide Akiolu-Peters
Next, Olumide introduced Kaspersky’s global cybersecurity platform to the guests. His session helped attendees understand the company’s strengths and the unique ways it supports security operations worldwide.

After the presentations, guests were treated to a relaxing breakfast. It was a brief pause to refuel and prepare for the next session. While there wasn’t any structured networking during this time, attendees had a moment to unwind and reflect on the morning’s powerful insights.
